GCR has performed mail distribution services in support of NASA’s mission at the Kennedy Space Center since 2008.
GCR operates the Mail Distribution Services Contract at the John F. Kennedy Space Center (KSC) and at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (CCAFS). KSC is the NASA space vehicle launch facility and Launch Control Center (spaceport) on Merritt Island, Brevard County, Florida.
GCR maintains the Mail Hub System consisting of a Central Mail Facility in the KSC Headquarters Building and five mail facilities located throughout KSC and the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. The Mail Facilities support institutional computer operations, shuttle logistics, manned launch complexes, unmanned launch complexes, payload processing facilities and numerous support facilities. Distribution routes emanating from each of the mail facilities cover the entire delivery area. For the Mail Distribution Services Contract GCR performs mail sorting, mail stop route delivery and pickup, handling of intra-center mail, screening of undelivered mail, courier service, packaging and wrapping, and vehicle coordination.
